Oh. I’m shocked. I met you all years ago in Austin–spent 4th of July 2002 out at the ranch. All of the sudden, the name “Morgan Strub” popped into my mind while on Facebook, and I decided to look him up. That led me here. I’m so sorry for your loss. And happy for Morgan to have liberated from this plane and moved on to the next great adventure.

I just learned of Morgan’s passing a few weeks ago after googling digihitch to see if others were having problems getting it to work. And eventually the info I learned, I wasn’t prepared for. I’ve never met Morgan Salman, but digihitch was one of the greatest websites ever made & his stories were awesome!
Thanks for continuing the stories through this journal. I will check back every so often for updates.

I’m just now hearing about Morgan’s dead. I was a regular at Digihitch years ago when I was traveling, but have been out of that loop lately. Me and Morgan had a few good conversations online and that site was a godsend as some here have put it for keeping in touch with people and finding out important information.

Sorry to hear of this loss.

So very sad to hear of Morgans passing. Although we never actually managed to meet up, we communicated thru Digihitch. Morgan was a true pioneer with a desire to create something that would touch the lives of thousands. He did this very successfully thru Digihitch and as one very prominent hitcher quoted regarding Morgan; “He was one of the most influential contributors to the Hitch-Hiking Sub-Culture in recent times”, I would add that he will most likely be remembered as THE most important contributor to Hitch-Hiking in modern times if his dream – Digihitch, is allowed to continiue.

Digihitch is part of Morgans legacy but so is the warmth, wisdom and openness that Morgan gave so freely to everyone. He certainly had an impact on my life and I”ll miss him greatly. May God Bless Kasha and his family and may he give you all the strength to get thru this difficult time.

To Morgan’s family,

I am so, so sorry for your loss. Though I never had the good fortune to meet Morgan, I have benefited greatly from Digihitch and will be going on my first hitchhiking trip this June thanks to the confidence I’ve built up from the website and forums. In addition to all that he accomplished in life, Morgan’s work on Digihitch alone is a great legacy that I hope will live on for quite sometime. Please know that your husband/brother/son/friend has profoundly influenced the life of some random guy in Richmond, Virginia.

I didn’t know Salman but he was inspiration on “digihitch.” His advice was so balanced and pragmatic. I am on the road now and I will fly a sign for him.

Carl Strub, from Mohave Valley,AZ: Cousin; My Deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family, I know what you and everyone of your family must going thru including kasha most of all.
We will be thinking of you all and Morgan will be deeply missed by all of us, He was a great loving person and it was great getting to know him at our last family reunion at the Avi Casino in Laughlin, NV.
When My Sister, Bethy passed on it was hard and I still think of her all the time. But the memory is still there in our Hearts, and so will Morgan will always be remembered. Love you all, Carl L. Strub I and Family
